New TRANSFORMERS Classic MINI-CON 3-Packs

GoldenAgeToys.com is pleased to present the first wave of Classic MINI-CONS , which are part of the Classics program that pays tribute to the rich history of the TRANSFORMERS saga. These 3-packs feature the DINOBOTS, the NIGHT RESCUE TEAM, and the Demolition Team.

The DINOBOTS fight where others fear to go. Adventurers through and through, KNOCKDOWN, TERRORSAUR and SWOOP are more at home in the thickest, most poisonous jungles of the galaxy than they are in the comfortable machine cities of CYBERTRON. When a mission requires animal instincts, sure feet and a laser-proof hide, the DINOBOTS are the ones to call.

The NIGHT RESCUE TEAM features STRONGARM, DIVEBOMB and FIREBOT—three young and brave AUTOBOTS fresh out of primary programming and too inexperienced to ever be afraid. When there are other robots in danger, and nothing will save them except a foolish charge into the dangerous and unknown, it's always the Night Rescue Team that gets called in. Their motto: "We bring light to the darkness"

If it can be built, the DECEPTICON Demolition Team of WIDELOAD, SLEDGE and BROADSIDE can bring it down. Every member of the team is an expert engineer, specializing in weakening and destroying the foundation of any structure they encounter. Before any important battle, you'll find the Demolition Team on site, tunneling beneath enemy fortifications.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

In every dark corner of every spaceport in the galaxy, shady deals are being cut by hooded figures with untraceable currency. Down dank alleyways, crawling with vermin and dripping with industrial waste, desperate rogues stalk their unwary prey in cities with exotic names. Huddled over their thick drinks in grey, swirling shisha smoke-filled bars and watering holes on a thousand different worlds, seedy opportunists and listless barflies sip their intoxicating brews and scheme or dream of power and riches to be made or long since lost. This is the galaxy's grimy underworld, where life is cheap and fortunes are exchanged at the barrel of a blaster- the world of scum and villainy.

Marginalized even in the days of the Old Republic, great chunks of the galactic populace found themselves the outcast trash of the galaxy. Whether forced by cruel circumstance or lured by the promise of power and glory, many found their way into crime, and under the rule of the Empire, shady opportunists and dealers willing to trade in forbidden goods thrived. Wherever injustice existed, the afflicted would seek distraction in illegal substances or freedom through force of arms. In either case, the galaxy-spanning underworld waited readily to supply.

Left to their own devises by both the Empire and Republic, the Hutts were among the most obvious to profit from such trade, building vast criminal cartels on the proceeds of extortion, gun running, spice trafficking and slavery. Employing enforcers, fawners and lackeys of all kinds, the slug-like Hutts expanded their influence throughout the Outer Rim, while, closer to the Core, more subtle operations, such as the sinister Black Sun Syndicate, raked quiet fortunes from beneath the feet of the establishment.

In a galaxy full of crime, bounty hunters of all manner and description fulfilled a much needed role, apprehending fugitives on behalf of over-stretched local planetary law enforcement and even grand militaries already occupied with wars on a larger scale. Within the criminal underworld, bounty hunters were a police force of sorts, but one that answered to cold, hard cash rather than any form of law based on principles or ideals.

Like blood, crime runs through the spaceway-veins of the galaxy, sustaining that great body's myriad cells with its ever-flowing life, and feeding the parasites that cling to its underbelly.

McFarlane Toys Immortalizes Six Gridiron Greats

McFarlane Sports Picks collectors have waited impatiently for the prototype images of the upcoming NFL 14 lineup. The prototype for one of the figures was shown during the San Diego Comic-Con, and the fans clamored for more. Although they're still waiting to finalize the tattoo inking for Kansas City RB Larry Johnson, they've decided that the overwhelming requests must be answered. So without further ado, let's take a look at the initial photography for McFarlane's NFL 14 lineup:

LARRY JOHNSON -- Kansas City Chiefs RB: From the doghouse to Priest Holmes' backup, to the consensus #1 pick in most fantasy football drafts -- it's been an amazing two years for Larry Johnson. After shocking the world last year, L.J. gets to show the NFL what kind of crazy numbers he can put up as a full-time starting back.

REGGIE BUSH -- New Orleans Saints RB/KR: The happiest people to see Reggie Bush playing in New Orleans are the Saints faithful, but a close second are the fans of the other nine PAC-10 schools he abused during his breathtaking career at USC. With speed, power, and ridiculous moves, Bush is an absolute weapon in the open field.

ANTONIO GATES -- San Diego Chargers TE: Gates hadn't played competitive football since high school, and his NBA prospects coming out of Kent State weren't thrilling, so he knocked on the door of the San Diego Chargers and announced that he could play some football. He wasn't kidding. Gates caught 10 touchdown passes in each of his first two seasons, and in 2006 he leads all tight ends in catches, receiving yards and touchdowns.

TROY POLAMALU -- Pittsburgh Steelers S: Is he a cornerback, safety, or a linebacker? Equal parts deception and devastation, Polamalu is just as likely to sack your quarterback as he is to pick off a pass across the middle. Underneath all that hair is a defensive riddle no one's been able to solve...

STEVE SMITH -- Carolina Panthers WR: The most feared receiver in the NFL stands 5'9 and weighs 180 pounds. Rebounding from a season lost to injury, Panthers wideout Steve Smith made the NFL his personal playground in 2005, leading the league (or tying for the lead) in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown receptions.

SHAUN ALEXANDER 2 -- Seattle Seahawks RB: It's been high tide for the former Alabama running back since he landed in the NFL. Shaun Alexander set an all-time NFL record with 28 touchdowns in 2005 -- his 28 touchdowns were more than eight entire teams scored last season. Alexander led the league in rushing yards as well, and became the first league MVP in Seahawks history.

NFL 14 features one of the most balanced lineups in Sports Picks history -- look for it to arrive in stores this November!

New Star Wars Animated Maquettes from Gentle Giant!

Gentle Giant has just announced the next two pieces in their line of Clone Wars inspired animated maquettes based on popular Star Wars heroes and villains:

Star Wars Animated C-3PO with Jawa Maquette

You wouldn't hurt an unarmed droid, would you? The Star Wars Animated C-3PO with Jawa Maquette features the fussy droid in a scene inspired by the films and the style of the Clone Wars animated series, with a Jawa holding on to a newly "disarmed" C-3PO's missing limb. Standing 8.5-inches tall, this numbered, limited edition collectible features a certificate of authenticity and the kind of style your collection just can't be without.

Star Wars Animated Luke Skywalker Pilot Maquette

He could take on the whole Empire by himself! Granted, he's going to need a little help, as Luke Skywalker's time on Hoth showed! After being shot down by AT-AT walkers, he had to leap out of the way of these Imperial behemoths before taking one down with his lightsaber, a few charges, and the Force. Inspired by the moments surrounding this heroic fight against impossible odds, this statue combines the character from The Empire Strikes Back with the unique animated style presented in the Clone Wars cartoons. Standing about 8-inches tall, this collectible statue is a limited edition and features a certificate of authenticity.

New Gentle Giant Star Wars Mini-Busts!

Two new mini-busts from Gentle Giant are now available for pre-order:

Star Wars Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight Mini Bust

He's Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight and friend to Captain Solo! And now, he's an authentically re-created mini-bust from Gentle Giant. Luke Skywalker was destined to become a powerful Jedi - like his father before him. As seen in Return of the Jedi, Luke is wearing his own version of the traditional Jedi attire. The Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight mini bust stands 6-inches tall and is made of poly-resin. Comes with a hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Limited Edition.

Star Wars Jango Fett Mini Bust

He'll do his job well! Jango Fett was the fearsome bounty hunter that was cloned to make the army of the Republic. As a pawn of the Emperor, Jango tangled with his fair share of Jedi. The Jango Fett mini bust stands 6 1/2-inches tall and is made of poly-resin. Comes with a hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Limited Edition.

New Titanium Series Forged Figures!

Each new Titanium Series Forged Figure features intricate micro-detailing and comes complete with its own display stand!

Clone Trooper

Born and bred to protect and serve the Jedi and the Galactic Republic, the clone troopers are superior warriors in comparison to the Separatist droid armies. Once Palpatine issues Order 66, the clone troopers turn on their Jedi-generals and systematically hunt them down all over the galaxy. The clone troopers are now loyal members of the army of the Galactic Empire, serving the newly self-appointed Emperor Palpatine without question.

IG-88

A merciless bounty hunter whose aggressive nature is predicated on a tragic programming flaw, IG-88 is one of five assassin droids who learn to take matters into their own hands. IG-88 joins his fellow bounty hunter brethren aboard Darth Vader’s Imperial Star Destroyer and receives orders to capture the crew of the Millennium Falcon alive and unharmed. IG-88 makes a bold move by following Boba Fett to Cloud City, but Fett stuns IG-88 with an ion cannon and uses grenades to blast him to smithereens before he has a chance to reach the Falcon’s crew.

General Grievous

The brilliant, cybernetic mastermind behind the successes of the droid army of the Separatists, General Grievous leads the series of lightning strikes that opens a corridor for the invasion of Coruscant itself. Beyond his status as a military genius, he is also a cunning and devoted warrior driven equally by a love of combat and the rage he feels at his mutilation and imprisonment within a lifesaving cyborg frame. Though he first appears on the Republic HoloNet as a wartime rumor, he quickly grows to the status of legend as the Republic meets defeat after defeat at his hands. Trained in lightsaber combat by Count Dooku, his mythical status is cemented after single-handedly defeating no less than five Jedi on Hypori. He meets a warrior's death at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi after a brutal, bare-knuckle fight.

C-3PO

Though the first few years of his existence on Tatooine were spent naked, C-3PO is finally given the dignity due his position during his service to Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo. On Coruscant, his mismatched plating is upgraded to a shining gold appropriate to a Senator's servant. It only figures that, given his luck, he would shortly be involved in several battles culminating in the invasion of Coruscant. It's remarkable his plating remains undamaged throughout, despite being shot at several times. With the passing of Senator Amidala and Anakin Skywalker, ownership of C-3PO passes to the royal house of Alderaan, where he is entrusted with the care of young Princess Leia Organa.

New Titanium Series Robot Masters Wave 4!

Each new Titanium Series Die-Cast Robot Masters figure features intricate micro-detailing and comes complete with its own display stand!

OPTIMUS PRIME

Ancient, wise, and powerful, OPTIMUS PRIME is the greatest leader the AUTOBOTS have ever known. Patient, understanding and kind during moments of peace, he is nonetheless as skilled a warrior as he is a leader and diplomat. It has been noted more than once that his wisdom is so great that he seems to have a deeper understanding of the universe than he lets on.

SMOKESCREEN

If there's one thing SMOKESCREEN hates, it's a fair fight. that's why it's his job to make sure battle tips in favor of the AUTOBOTS. Charming, clever and sneaky, if he can't out-drive something, he can usually out-talk it, and failing that he can generate a dense cloud of magnetized smoke that sticks to and follows its victim. His weaponry includes an array of sensor-disrupting missiles and flak launchers, and an electro-shock rifle that can scramble most circuitry.

BUMBLEBEE

Very few AUTOBOTS can match BUMBLEBEE for sheer guts. Small but daring, BUMBLEBEE willingly goes where larger, tougher robots wouldn't even consider. Acting as a spy for OPTIMUS PRIME, he uses his size as an advantage, going unnoticed where his larger comerades would stick out. Though he is among the bravest and most respected of AUTOBOTS, he still idolizes the larger more combat-ready robots, especially OPTIMUS PRIME and PROWL.

New Titanium Series Robot Masters Wave 3!

Each new Titanium Series Die-Cast Robot Masters figure features intricate micro-detailing and comes complete with its own display stand!

OPTIMUS PRIMAL

Forced by fate into a role he never wished for himself, OPTIMUS PRIMAL led a rag-tag group of scientists and warriors in a desperate battle against a hardened gang of madmen and killers led by the PREDACON criminal MAGATRON. Trapped and alone the MAXIMAL leader fought to defend the primitive world on which they had crashed, and to prevent the insane machinations of a villain that would eventually become the most dangerous enemy ever to blight the history of CYBERTRON.

AUTOBOT STARSHIP ARK

This legendary ship looms large in the history of the TRANSFORMERS. Originally constructed to destroy an asteroid that threatened CYBERTRON, it became the home base first of the MAXIMALS and then the AUTOBOTS on Earth. Over the long history of the war, the ARK changed hands many times, featuring as the crux upon which many a battle turned, before its ultimate destruction.

MEGATRON

Mighty founder and leader of the DECEPTICONS, MEGATRON is bent on conquest without mercy, without weakness, without pity. He longs to destroy OPTIMUS PRIME and every last AUTOBOT before turning CYBERTRON into a mobile war world at the heart of a galaxy spanning empire. Determined to possess the planet keys held by the lost TRANSFORMERS worlds he will not hesitate to spend the lives of his troops to annihilate anyone who opposes him in his goals.

New Titanium Series Robot Masters Wave 2!

Each new Titanium Series Die-Cast Robot Masters figure features intricate micro-detailing and comes complete with its own display stand!

SIDE SWIPE

A skilled warrior who relishes a fight to the finish, SIDE SWIPE does not hesitate to use underhanded tactics when that is what is required to win. Quantum reflex processors give him incredible reflexes, and an array of short and medium-range weapons make him a formidable opponent in any environment. He takes pride in the fact that, unlike most AUTOBOTS, he can fly for short distances using his rocket backpack.

STARSCREAM

The treacherous second in command of the DECEPTICONS and leader of the DECEPTICON Sky Command, STARSCREAM is a name feared by all who hear it. He plots constantly to usurp his leader MEGATRON, but his native cowardice and lack of subtlety prevent him from succeeding. Still, his powerful null-ray blasts, which cripple any electrical system they hit, command instant respect.

AUTOBOT JAZZ

AUTOBOT JAZZ fell in love with Earth the first time he heard the music. His huge databank on Earth culture has made him the right hand man to OPTIMUS PRIME, as well as the ideal choice for many of the most dangerous undercover assignments. A courageous, cool, and capable warrior and spy, he is always the first to volunteer for any mission.

New Titanium Series Robot Masters Wave 1!

Each new Titanium Series Die-Cast Robot Masters figure features intricate micro-detailing and comes complete with its own display stand!

WAR WITHIN OPTIMUS PRIME

GRAVITAS and the members of the CHAMBER OF THE ANCIENTS have spoken. It has been determined that the fate of the AUTOBOTS will rest upon the shoulders of an archivist named OPTRONIX. He is given the leadership name of OPTIMUS PRIME once the power of THE AUTOBOTS MATRIX is bestowed onto him and provides the leadership his race needs in their most desperate hour.

UNICRON

The scourge of the TRANSFORMERS race, the almighty UNICRON can move through space and across dimensions at will. He is completely dedicated to a life of destruction and will remove all obstacles, including whole planets that stand in his way of universal domination.

BEAST WARS MEGATRON

MEGATRON is a rogue member of the dreaded PREDACONS, a race of TRANSFORMERS that emerged from the smoldering ruins of the defeated DECEPTICONS. He possesses the prized Golden Disk, an artifact that will guide his group of PREDACONS to a planet ripe with the ENERGON they so desperately need.

New Titanium Series Micro Vehicles!

Each new Titanium Series Die-Cast Micro Vehicle features intricate micro-detailing and comes complete with its own display stand!

Luke Skywalker’s Speeder Bike

Luke Skywalker operates a speeder bike while battling scout troopers on the Forest Moon of Endor. One bad move on this single-person repulsorlift vehicle, and he’ll end up as tree plaster! This advanced speeder is equipped with directional steering vanes, toggle switches for communications and shoulder-level handgrips, all of which aid in exceptional speed and maneuverability.

Republic Cruiser

These cruisers are often dispatched to transport members of the Galactic Senate and Jedi order throughout the galaxy. Their unique three-engine propulsion design makes them easily recognizable by the secretive Trade Federation.

Millennium Falcon

Before the Millennium Falcon was one of the most famous ships in the Rebel Alliance fleet, the Corellian freighter could often be found docked at Coruscant landing platforms. Its front cargo-gripping mandibles are used to lift and transport heavy loads and its body can store plenty of supplies. Once Lando Calrissian and later Han Solo owned this ship, they made sure this crafty spacecraft had plenty of "special modifications" to go around.

Sandcrawler

These gigantic vehicles were originally brought to Tatooine by Corellian prospectors hoping to mine the desert sands for saleable metals, only to be abandoned when the planet's depths proved as barren as its surface. They have since been repurposed by the native Jawas, who often live and travel by the hundreds in the vast, warren-like interior. These desert scavengers use their sandcrawlers as traveling market-places, hunting lodges, and - if the situation demands it - fortresses.

Executor

This immense starship was the crowning achievement of the Imperial Navy. Dwarfing even the gigantic Imperial-class Star Destroyers, the Executor was one of the most formidable craft ever conceived. As flagship of the fleet it led the counterattack on the Rebellion after the Battle of Yavin, driving the Rebels into hiding. Without peer in the galaxy, it led many successful attacks against rebel worlds before finally being destroyed in the Battle of Endor when it crashed, engulfed in flames, into the second Death Star.

A-wing Starfighter

The quickest starfighter deployed by any organization during the Galactic Civil War, the engines of the A-wing were so powerful that only the most skilled Rebel pilots were able to take full advantage of the speed they generated. Faster and more maneuverable than even the TIE interceptor, this vehicle was a deciding influence on many of the later battles in the war, including the Battle of Endor.

TIE Interceptor

Designed in response to the highly effective X-wing starfighter fielded by the Rebellion, this powerful fighter craft represents the pinnacle of Imperial engineering. Featuring enhanced ion projection stream engines and four laser cannons mounted at the tips of its dagger-like solar gather panels, it presents a sleek and aggressive profile. Piloted by the best in the Imperial military at speeds nearly matching those of an A-wing, this craft quickly became the cornerstone of Imperial ship-to-ship tactics.

B-wing Starfighter

Slow, ungainly and strange looking, the B-wing more than makes up in firepower what it lacks in looks. Designed to engage and destroy Imperial escort frigates, this heavy starfighter is equipped with a wide array of powerful weapons and heavier armor than any other Rebel fighter. Deployed at the Battle of Endor as escort ships to the fighter wing intended to assault the new Death Star, this ship proved invaluable during the close battle between the Imperial and Rebel fleets.

Happy Anniversary! Star Wars turns 30

2007 will mark the 30th anniversary of the original release of Star Wars: A New Hope. To commemorate this historic occasion Hasbro has announced a whole slew of new figures for 2007. Collectors got a sneak preview of some of these figures at the San Diego Comic Con last month. The celebration actually gets kicked off this Fall with a whole range of new collectible action figures:

3.75” Figure Battle Packs

Back by popular demand, the 2007 3 ¾” Figure Battle Pack assortment will be launched in Fall 2006 with three memorable Star Wars scenes (look for these in stores in November): Battle Above the Sarlacc, Sith Lord Attack, and Jedi vs. Darth Sidious.

Battle Above the Sarlacc
Luke Skywalker has escaped his scheduled execution in the Great Pit of Carkoon, home of the terrifying Sarlacc. Boba Fett temporarily captures Skywalker using his rope-firing wrist gauntlet. The Jedi and his Friends, however, have luck on their side, especially when Han Solo accidentally activates Fett’s backpack and sends him tumbling into the Sarlacc’s digestive system!

Sith Lord Attack
Never in its long history have such powers clashed within the walls of the ancient Theed Royal Palace. Three warriors, each a master of Lightsaber combat, contest for victory at the heart of the palace, their battle raging along the treacherous edge of a melting pit hundreds of meters deep. For the first time in a thousand years, the light and dark sides of the Force have joined in conflict.

Jedi vs. Darth Sidious
Here, in a lavish Senatorial office atop one of the tallest buildings on Coruscant, the endgame of the conflict between Sith and Jedi begins. Revealed as a Dark Lord of the Sith, Chancellor Palpatine vaults across his desk with the uncanny speed of a master in the Force, his lightsaber blazing to life. Its blade carries the swift death of no less than three Jedi. Even the great Mace Windu will be fought to a standstill in this, the first battle in a conflict that will end with the extermination of the Jedi.

It's not that easy being green

But you sure wouldn't know it by the celebrated and sensationally inspirational career of the one and only Kermit the Frog. It seems like only yesterday that Kermit got his start on a local television show called "Sam & Friends," before growing by leaps and hops into the world's most famous amphibian. In fact, it's been 50 years since Kermit's creator, Jim Henson, changed the world with Kermit and his Muppet pals.

Kermit is a classic Muppet hand-and-rod-operated puppet, one of the simplest kinds of puppets. And yet, it is that very simplicity which makes him so expressive and such an endearing extension of Henson's personality. For still photo shoots, puppets like Kermit were built without hand openings and with wire armatures that allowed posability, so as to capture that unique Muppet attitude.

Master Replicas has created an authentic replica of the Kermit the Frog puppet used for still photo shoots. This puppet is made from the original Kermit pattern and stitched to replicate Hansen Stitch Sewing and is created from the same fleece, micro fiber and froggy green felt used on the original Kermit. He is fully posable, with mouth expression and full articulation in neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and fingers andomes with a custom display stand and numbered plaque.
