The Clone Wars takes place between Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi continue their journey across the galaxy amongst the Clone Wars, meeting up with familiar villains, such as Count Dooku, General Grievous and Asajj Ventress. The Grand Army of the Republic, led by Yoda, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and other Jedi Knights, must fight the New Droid Army of the Separatists.

New Trailer & Poster for Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Star Wars fans will get an unprecedented look at the newest intergalactic adventure on Thursday, May 8, when the world-premiere trailer for the upcoming CG-animated movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars debuts across five Turner networks simultaneously.

At 7:58 p.m. in all U.S. time zones, Cartoon Network, TNT, TBS, CNN, and Boomerang will debut an action-packed, two-minute preview of the animated adventure from creator George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation. It marks the first time a theatrical trailer has received a simultaneous, cross-network airing on Turner Networks. The trailer debuts in theaters on Friday, May 9, along with the first poster for the movie. The poster is available for pre-order exclusively at StarWarsShop. Check it out here.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars opens in movie theaters Aug. 15.

Marvel Feature Film Update: Captain America, Avangers & Iron Man 2

Marvel Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: MVL), a global character-based entertainment and licensing company, today reported operating results for its first quarter ended March 31, 2008. Marvel also announced the opening weekend box office performance of its debut Iron Man feature film, and unveiled its self-produced feature film slate through 2011. Iron Man debuted this weekend, generating an estimated domestic box office of $100.75 million for the three-day weekend. This performance represents the 10th best opening weekend ever and the 2nd best non-sequel feature film debut ever - second only to Spider-Man, also a Marvel character. On a worldwide basis, Iron Man has generated an estimated $201 million in global box office to date. In keeping with the Company’s increasing focus on entertainment and licensing opportunities, Marvel also announced it has substantially completed its exit from direct toy operations and consequently will no longer report the results of its remaining toy business as a separate reportable segment effective with Q1 2008.

Marvel today updated its feature film slate strategy and plans for the next three years, locking in key release windows for its character franchises. In order to focus its attention on maximizing the success of an Iron Man sequel and the launch of Thor in the summer of 2010 and because Marvel believes that the summer is the optimal time to launch a new property, the Company will not release a self produced film in 2009. Marvel plans to launch its 2010 film slate with the release of the sequel, Iron Man 2, on April 30, 2010, followed by the launch of Thor on June 4, 2010. Additionally, Marvel is planting its feature film stakes for summer 2011 with an Avengers-themed summer – a two-picture project which will debut on May 6, 2011 with The First Avenger: Captain America (working title), followed by The Avengers in July 2011.

'Star Wars' Themed 'Deal Or No Deal ' Comes To NBC On April 28

April 7, 2008 – NBC's hit game show "Deal or No Deal" transforms itself for a special "Star Wars" themed "winner take all" episode on Monday, April 28 (8-10 pm ET) surprising two diehard fans of the popular movie franchise with the experience of a lifetime. Guest supporters cheering on the contestants include Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Chewbacca and R2D2, and in a surprise twist, Darth Vader fills in as the villainous Banker.

In this two-hour "winner take all" episode, two contestants, Elyse McCrillis and Brad Flinchum, will duel against each other with the chance to win close to two million dollars. They will each play their own game and whoever has the highest amount at the end of his or her game will take home both winnings, leaving the other with nothing. This will make them re-think their strategy—play it safe or take the risk and go all the way—in order to be the winner.

As McCrillis gets ready to begin her solo game, she quickly sees that the models have been replaced with the classic Imperial storm troopers. The game becomes even more exciting when she gets a surprise guest supporter—Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), to help her play her game.

Anxiously waiting to start his game, Flinchum has no idea what is in store for him. Once his game begins, Mandel reveals the models are dressed as Princess Leia in the classic slave outfit from "Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi." After getting his composure, he too gets surprise supporters as everyone's favorite wookiee Chewbacca and the loveable astromech droid R2D2 take the stage.

Robot Chicken: Star Wars tonight on Teletoon

The satirical, Emmy-winning stop-motion animated series Robot Chicken airs its much-hailed Star Wars episode in Canada. George Lucas, Seth MacFarlane, Hulk Hogan and Malcolm McDowell guest-voice characters in the segment, a spoof of the Star Wars films.

That's followed by the Robot Chicken season 3 premiere featuring two back-to-back episodes that touch on everything from Dora the Explorer to Pac-Man to the Girls Gone Wild video series. (Teletoon)

Giants Win Super Bowl XLII

Tom Coughlin met with New York Giants owners before the season and promised dramatic changes. Last night, he delivered. Led by Coughlin, the underdog Giants captured their first Super Bowl title in 18 years by upsetting the previously undefeated New England Patriots, the highest-scoring team in National Football League history, 17-14. `The best part of it for me is that this group of young men, who came together and believed in themselves, bought the team concept completely, took the names off the back of their jerseys and checked their egos at the door,'' Coughlin said after the game. ``The reinforcement for the team is the greatest source of satisfaction for me.'' The championship comes after Coughlin, 61, sat down with Giants owners and promised changes in his approach to coaching. In 2006, New York became the eighth NFL team to reach the postseason after winning just half their regular-season games, and lost in the first round of the playoffs for the third straight year.

Marvel Announces Voluntary Recall of Four Styles of Curious George Plush

Marvel Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: MVL) announced today that it is voluntarily recalling four styles of a plush Curious George doll that showed total lead levels in surface coatings in excess of the federal limit.

“The safety of our consumers – especially children – is our top concern. We were deeply disturbed to learn of these results,” said Joann McLaughlin, COO of Marvel Toys.

Following concerns raised by the Center for Environmental Health (CEH), Marvel immediately initiated a comprehensive re-testing of its entire Curious George line, consisting of more than 60 items. The results of this re-testing showed that all of the items complied with federal standards for total lead content, except for the Curious George Themed Plush with Book -- a plush doll with a plastic face sold in four styles: Birthday, Fireman, Sweet Dreams, and Tool Time. That item contained surface coatings with total lead levels in excess of the federal standard, prompting this voluntary recall. Parents and caregivers should remove the recalled toys and contact Marvel to learn how to receive a full refund. Approximately 110,000 units sold to the public since the items were introduced in 2005 are affected by this recall. There have been no reports of illness or injury related to any of the recalled toys. Marvel has not produced any of these products since December 2005 and has been out of inventory since August 2007. Additional units held in retailers’ inventory are also being returned for destruction.

Marvel has always commissioned regular independent testing of its toy products. Samples of all toy items the company produces were tested by Bureau Veritas, a top independent testing laboratory, before being shipped to retail. The four Curious George items were tested four times between October 2005 and August 2007 and passed each time for both total and soluble lead levels. The four items were also tested in August 2007 by a second independent test lab and again passed for both total and soluble lead levels. As total lead levels in surface coatings on the four items were in excess of federal thresholds in the recent re-testing, Marvel has elected to recall them pursuant to practices approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Distributor Requests Voluntary Removal of Aqua Dots Toys by Retail Stores

Press release: Following notification by Moose Enterprises of a recall in Australia of a product called Bindeez, which is similar to the line of toys we distribute for them in North America under the Aqua Dots brand, we are requesting that retailers remove the Aqua Dots toy from retail shelves and sale in North America.

Out of an abundance of caution, we have stopped shipping this item and are working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada.

Spin Master considers all safety issues to be of a serious nature including the media reports with Moose Enterprises’ Bindeez product. All is well in New York City until one night, as Peter and M.J. set gazing at the stars, a falling comet streams across the sky and crashes into the ground close by. But this isn't any ordinary shooting star, and upon impact the mysterious space rock is split open to reveal a shape-shifting symbiote with the power to overtake anything that it comes into contact with. Later, as Harry Osborn acquires his late father's flying board, engineers a powerful new Goblin outfit, and takes to the sky to avenge dad's death, the mysterious space sludge infects both Peter's Spider Man suit and ambitious street photographer Eddie Brock (Grace). His strange new suit giving him a newfound sense of power as it gradually overpowers his personality, Peter discovers that escaped convict Flint Marko was in fact the man responsible for the death of Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson). BoSox sweep Rockies to win World Series

(Denver) - The Boston Red Sox have won the World Series, completing a four-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies with a 4-3 win last night.

For the second time in four years, the Boston Red Sox sit at the pinnacle of the baseball world. After going 86 years without a World Series title, the Red Sox now have won two of the last four in most impressive fashion.

The Red Sox dominated Colorado, a team that came into the World Series having won 21 of 22 games. Boston outscored the Rockies 29-10 in the four-game sweep. Boston has seven World Series titles, which is fourth on the all-time list.
